Northern Current Electrical is a Leeds-based, NICEIC-approved electrical contractor specializing in domestic and small-scale commercial installations. The company prides itself on offering reliable same-day service across West Yorkshire, including fuse box upgrades, fault finding, garden lighting, and landlord electrical safety certificates (EICRs). Despite strong word-of-mouth referrals and over 15 years of experience, their online visibility was underperforming, especially on Google Maps.

The Challenge:
Northern Current had a basic website and a Google Business Profile (GBP) that hadn’t been updated in over a year. They had around 30 Google reviews, but ranked below the fold (positions 9–13) for nearly all high-converting local terms like:

  • “Emergency electrician Leeds”

  • “EICR certificate Leeds”

  • “Electrician near me”

They were also losing business to less-experienced competitors who had more polished online presences. Our Solution:
We designed and executed a comprehensive local SEO strategy, broken into three phases:

The Results:
